The YHS girls, behind individual champion Helena Kleronomos, won its second-straight regional title Saturday. Kleronomos traversed the Parkside course in 17 minutes, 11.3 seconds, just ahead of teammate and runner-up Kailey Fox's 17:12.3. Emily Eberhart (3rd, 17:23), Hailey Simmons (5th, 18:00) and Sara Klemm (7th, 18:16) all cracked the top 10 as well. Anna Hunter (11th, 18:48) and Sam Moreno (15th, 19:06) filled out the varsity lineup. Minooka took second with 46 points, while Pekin (136), Normal Community (154), Joliet West (154) and East Moline United (156) qualified for next week's sectional in Quincy. YHS had 18 points for the second week in a row.

The boys were led by a terrific performance by Ben Tholen, who placed third 15:48.5. Ivan Westcott also cracked the top 10, finishing seventh in 16:04. Corey Kramer (17th, 16:22), Alex Loos (18th, 16:23) and Jackson Edwards (22nd, 16:34) rounded out the scoring five for the Foxes, while Austin Hunter (28th, 16:46) and Aiden Goodwin (42nd, 17:06) completed the top seven. Minooka won the regional with 49 points, with YHS (67), Normal University (72), Normal Community West (145), Normal Community (154) and Bradley-Bourbonnais (176) all qualifying for the sectional in Quincy next Saturday.
